Updated 28 Novmenber 2009:
Hi all, Just converted this theme to OS 5 compliant and for the 9700. For those who had used pure.absolute, you should know how it works.
Change Log:
- Spacebar launches ShortcutMe and Quick Launch
- filled in the icons for new built-in apps like files, pictures, viedos
- changed folder icons to Capitalize Text icons
- Transition between screens
Now available for 9700 too.
————————————————————————-
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your patience while waiting for this theme.
For those who had previewed pure.absolute, you should know roughly how it works, if not here is an introduction:
pure.absolute:
- Nothing on the home screen except for message notifications and default icons like bluetooth, wifi when activated
- Full wallpaper compatible
- Small fonts
- Fast and minimalistic
- Click trackball on home screen to activate ShortcutMe
- Translucent menus

pure.absolute main screen

pure.absolute app screen
pure.absolute spots a full main screen free of most general distraction. You can customize it with any wallpaper you want without any icons to get in the way. In a sense, the highlight of this theme is there is nothing on the home screen except for some notifications and default which I could not switch off using the theme builder.
a. bluetooth
b. wifi
c. gps locator
d. message indicators
The above indicators will be shown only you have activated them or you have a message, other than that you will only see the battery and signal indicators. They are located at the bottom of your homescreen shown in this illustration:

pure.absolute legend
If you have ShortcutMe or Quick Launch (launcher app), you can click on the trackball whilst in Main screen to launch it.
If you do not have ShortcutMe, you have nothing to click on home screen but you can use the following shortcuts default from Blackberry to help you navigate to your apps; if you don’t know this already.
1) First press the CALL button and get to your call log.
2) Go to MENU > OPTIONS > GENERAL OPTIONS
3) Click Dial From Home Screen and set to NO.
Then you can use these shortcuts:
A = Address Book
M = Messages
L = Calendar
N = BB Messenger
B = Browser
T = Task
D = Memo
U = Calculator
O = Options
F = Profiles

Absolutely Nothing is absolutely great. Haha. Something so “simple” but so good.
i can’t wait…
Too bad I’m using Bold, so I can’t test this one.
Can’t wait for the release, I’m so curious how’d it look like.
Absolutely love this this theme. Excellent job, as always. Thank you.
Looking forward to the new themes!
Thanks Bahandi, lourdes
@ dirtybird072, Lexion, Iceberg – been very busy at work and will be touching up, porting and will release pure.absolute in a while. Sorry for the wait.
Such great theme….. so much less is so much more….
Thanks Emil, I am sure some of your photography works can use the full screen attention on your blackberry
Niceee.. Really love the simplicity of all your themes.
Sorry I have to ask this, does all your themes compatible for the new beta OS 5.0.0.238?
Because I don’t want to upgrade and then downgrade again if it happens not compatible with your themes.
I don’t want an OS that can’t use these marvelous themes
hi Lexion, My theme are not OS 5 compatible now but will upgrade all themes once the official is out and plazmic officially okays it. Thanks for your nice comments, such an honor.
hey jason… again dope theme my man… keep up the good work…
Looks good not for me though. It’s a bummer that these themes don’t work with 5.0. I assumed all themes built with Plazmic 4.7 worked with 5.0.
Previewed this yesterday. Love the simple feel, although i use QuickLaunch and not shortcutme. My only suggestion would be to skin the wifi signal like the regular signal but that’s a pet peev of mine as i am on wifi 90% of the time.
Sides notes, ALL themes are compatible with 5.0 OS with the current version of Plazmic. They actually work better on the 5.0 OS if you ask me. I just tested the official OTA release and it does work with 5.0.0.238. (AND!!! new feature, after you install a theme on .238, it gives you the option of activating it!!!)
“C” does bring up a list of your contacts and yes you can do all the same functions as the Address book, but it it really for Compose (as in an e-mail) for the default function.
Great work as always Jas0n!
Hi Mr tolles
I didn’t know that my themes are OS 5 compliant
Thanks for the heads up. And sure, I will be working to skin the wifi signal; just that I am not on wifi at all hence leaving that out usually. So cool! Now I am totally tempted to upgrade to OS.5.0.0.238.
This one is for all, Mr Tolles is the patron of purelab. and had been hosting all OTAs for me and in case you miss the blogroll, this is a link to his site: http://www.berryfreethemes.com/
yo jason… i like the battery meter at the bottom… it took me a minute to figure out that the white line was a battery meter…
ahhh Iceberg, so it works for a while! I nearly wanted to post a white background to the home screen to totally deceive everyone that there isn’t anything on the home screen haha.
Im REALLY enjoying this theme. Very nice work.
Thanks CARTOON.
Great theme, as usual Jason!! Very stylish and absolute(ly) sweet! haha!
I’m really glad to know that themes work with OS 5.0 because that was the only thing keeping me from upgrading.
Thanks again, love your style!
Genius, once again lol.
many thanks jas0n
Alikat
OMG, bn awhile since i was able to catch a breath n now here i am. this theme was like a wish came true s i needed a theme with nothing displayed as i m having probs (which i cant solve) with my msg/e-mail preview. thank u so much! wonderful
Hi Joanne, Thanks! I tried OS 5, it is sweet, the themes worked okay but there are some icons not skinnable in the current plazmic so I downgraded so I can effectively and accurately test my themes on my 8900. Hope the new updates for plazmic soon, can’t wait to use OS 5 fully.
Many thanks alikat for the generous compliment.
Hi Gina, slow down.. relax
Hope your problem can be resolved soon and maybe the soon-to-be-officially release OS can help.
Oh, good to know Jason! Maybe I won’t upgrade quite yet then…I’m good with the OS I have now, no problems at all. Lovin the QL support!! Works good for me!
Thanks again!
Really beautiful! I’m getting an 8900 soon and I cannot wait to try it out!
hi ellegee, hope to see you around more often, with or without your 8900.
So I just wanted to say that all the themes are just awesome. When I found the pure absolute theme with quick launch I was stoked cause it made my custom all black 8900 look even sleeker. Again thanx Jason you know your stuff bro.
Hi D.M.
Thanks for your compliment. I like mine all black too… Sleek and mysterious.

wow downloaded the new pure absolute with quicklaunch, omg!!!!
Just what I needed. Now my blackberry looks like a celebrity. No wall paper just pure absolute and a mirrored screen protector, its dark and mysterious, with the brilliant white font reflection shining thru the mirror. I cant describe how beautiful my BB looks Simply awesome . Much respect Jas0n.
Can’t wait for the new theme lol
Hi alikat
Got your message in facebook
pure.absolute was meant to be a full wallpaper friendly theme devoid of all the distractions… but like you, I found myself liking the white font shining through the black background and never use a wallpaper at all. The mystery part is how everybody was wondering if the phone is on screen saver mode..lol
Thanks!

Thanks lobo. See you around often.
Update is slick! Love the transition screens! The best things are usually the simplest… Thanks for the update jas0ns!
hey jason, anyway to import your pure.basic themes to the 9700 too?
I downloaded this one for my 9700. It has a blue and green thin line at the top right of the screen and a thin white line at the bottom left of the screen? what am I not doing right??
ok- sorry just saw the previous post about the white line being the battery indicator. still cannot figure out the blue and green at the top though….
never mind……
Hi brook196, you got it?? it is the wifi signal indicator on the top right.
hi silverwingz,
I am slowly porting all my themes to the 9700 and os 5.. sorry for the long wait

This is my favorite theme. But since I tend to use my phone as a clock/watch and there is no date & time on the homescreen, I find myself using a different theme as my main theme.
Still, this is my favorite theme because of its simplicity and lack of clutter!
